Research Tool Web provides information regarding research tools owned and licensed by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Pfizer is working to foster research tool licensing in Japan and to promote the research activities of universities and corporations. Pfizer offers Research Tool Web as a resource to the research community as a part of these efforts.

The website offers information about research tools which NIH licenses to universities and corporations. Users can also view the specific fees which these institutions pay for the licenses. The site also features a search function to enable users to easily locate a particular research tool.

In the future, the site will also feature data from other sources.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is pleased to be able to introduce our research tools to the Japanese research community in collaboration with Pfizer.

In the United States, licensing of research tools is very widespread. In 1999, the NIH established Guidelines to encourage broad access to results from NIH-funded research.

The research tools included in Research Tool Web can be licensed non-exclusively, based on these NIH Guidelines. If you are interested in licensing a particular tool, please contact NIH directly using the email address provided on this site.
